Dubrovnik Airport is now “Ruđer Bošković Airport”

Dubrovnik Airport was officially renamed Dubrovnik Ruđer Bošković Airport, after the 18th-century Croatian scientist. You’ll still see it signposted and sold as “Dubrovnik Airport” almost everywhere, and locals call it Čilipi Airport, after the village it sits in — all three names refer to the same place. Its codes are DBV (IATA) and LDDU (ICAO).

How far is the airport from Dubrovnik Old Town?

About 15.5 km (9.5 miles) south-east of the Old Town. A private transfer takes roughly 25–30 minutes depending on traffic, which picks up noticeably around midday in July and August.

Your options for getting into town

• Private transfer — booked in advance, fixed price, a driver waiting at arrivals with your name. No queue, no shared stops.
• Shared shuttle bus — cheaper per person, but it waits to fill up and stops at multiple hotels before yours.
• Taxi rank — available outside arrivals, but prices aren’t always fixed in advance and can vary by driver.
